Assimilation & Oppression

This report tabled in the British House of Commons in 1837 is very telling on the attitudes and information received on the state of their colonies. The report for New Holland (now known as Australia) begins here:
'The inhabitants of New Holland, in their original condition, have been described by travelers as the most degraded of the human race ; but it is to be feared that intercourse with Europeans has cast over their original debasement a yet deeper shade of wretchedness. [node:read-more:link]

Join the dots between the current Recognition campaign; Constitutional inclusion; Native Title Act's Preamble; Australia's obligations to the UN and the CERD; Special Measures; the Treaty processes and the insistence that First Nations Peoples are called 'Indigenous Australians' ... then there is the Victorian treaty legislation that introduces itself by stating that the people the treaty is for is Victorian Aborigines. Ghillar, Michael Anderson accuses the members of the WA Aboriginal Lands Trust of treasonous behaviour and actions against their own Peoples. He said this is evidenced by the fact that over the past years the Aboriginal Lands Trust has acted in concert with the interests of mining companies, the WA government and the Federal government to shut down Aboriginal communities under a policy of forced removal and clearing the land. The purpose of ridding the land of its true owners is to permit free and open access to exploration, mining and other development. [node:read-more:link]

One of the slogan chants of the Invasion/Sovereignty Day March in Sydney was "No accident, it was murder!", referring to the continuing and spiralling number of deaths in custody. International lawyers are now referring to First Nations Peoples’ Deaths in Custody as being attributed to State-sanctioned death squads. ... The question of our continuing sovereignty governed by our ancient Law and customs is traced by our Songlines, dances and songs across this continent. ...... the Mabo judges committed treason and demonstrated their refusal to make an unbiased decision. Recognition was not ditched with the "R" campaign, it's alive and well after the issue of the 'Uluru' (Yulara) Statement. Australians and Indigenous alike are being deceived. Recognition in the Constitution's preamble is part of the current reforms, and is a massive danger to Aboriginal Sovereign rights. Australia's legitimacy as a sovereign state cannot and will not be achieved while our First Nations Peoples continue to challenge its sovereignty. The ongoing deceit and treachery that is occurring in our First Nations' struggle is fuelled by the intent of the occupying colonising power to gain legitimacy by stealth. Land Councils are challenging our people asserting their sovereign position, by telling them their sovereignty status is a 'load of rubbish', and governments are propagating coercive lies to our people about the beneficial outcomes of constitutional recognition and/or Treaty(s). Despite claims from Government that more people are engaging in Work for the Dole, penalties for non-attendance at Work for the Dole were higher than ever, at 46,258 in the quarter. These penalties are not waived or worked off and because Aboriginal people in remote areas work much longer hours that their city counterparts, they are penalised at a much higher rate. With an exasperating number of penalties in remote communities, not only do the participants get penalised, but the lack of income affects the whole community. [node:read-more:link]

Murdoch Media are targeting Aboriginal woman Tarneen Onus Williams in a modern day 'Nigger Hunt' because the Melbourne Rally she was involved in, and all of the other Rallies, are becoming a major threat to the continuation of the neo-colonial celebration on 26th January.
