Organisers of the undeclared Frontier War's parade today, during the Canberra ANZAC day parade condemned the actions of the AFP for refusing to allow 200 Aboriginals and their supporters to peacefully march up ANZAC Avenue to lay a Wreath to Commemorate all those who died in wars, including those who died in the 18th, 19th, and twentieth century Frontier Wars defending their country. Ghillar Anderson said the AFP demonstrated appalling behaviour at the Frontier Wars commemoration March and that he would now seek advice in respect to whether what had happened constituted an act of racism. 'Ghillar' Michael Anderson said the Frontier Wars, in which thousands of Aboriginal men and women died defending their traditional lands against European invaders, was much more than an act of aggression. It was "mass murder" and of "war" which deserves to be remembered. "This is a long way from being called a protest," he told New Matilda. The 'Recognise' proposal that is being floated now re constitutional recognition is an attempt to outrightly steal the Aboriginal Peoples and Torres Strait Islanders' sovereignty and patrimony without the truth being told. I write this letter as a matter of urgency. Despite a national day of protest across the whole of the Australian continent on 19 March 2015 against the forced closures of Aboriginal homeland communities, the state governments have arrogantly ignored our protests and continue unabated. The mainstream media media in Australia are blacking out any attention as if the forced closures are not happening. Tony Abbott, self-styled 'Prime Minister for Indigenous Australia' demonstrate the voice and opinion of a tyrant. The racist comments by him in response to First Nations opposition to being forcibly removed form their lands resonates in the most negative of ways. We all know that the WA government and Tony Abbott seek to clear the interior land mass of any and every resisting Aboriginal person, so they don't have to deal with Land Rights issues, water rights issues and environmental issues. With millions of dollars being spent on the Recognise campaign, many First Nations people are asking: Who they are trying to convince – non-Aboriginal people or Aboriginal people? The real hidden agenda is to coerce Aboriginal Nations and Peoples to become part of the Australian Constitution and by doing so consent to be governed.
