it's important to know that the delay in countries signing the Paris Agreement was caused by both Australia and the USA threatening to walk away if other parties refused to permit various out clauses.

Notable and critical examiners of the Paris Agreement all agree that the symbolism was great for the world facing catastrophies because of climate change, especially those of the small Pacific Islands and low coast lands. [node:read-more:link]

This International Consultative Preparatory Forum was initiated by the First Nations 'Spearhead Pacific Alliance' on Decolonisation and Reparations in alliance of Tribal Chiefs, Rulers, Lawmen and Law women and includes the Sovereign Union of First Nations and Peoples; the Union of British Columbian Chiefs who are non-Treaty Nations; and colonized Pacific Nations, including the Fiji Native Government-in-Exile. First Nations Sovereignty now on the International agenda

During our London-based International Consultative Preparatory Forum on Decolonisation and Reparations I was invited to an interview on BBC World News Live TV in order to open up the international debate on First Nations Sovereignty. The London broadcast reached 200 countries worldwide on 14 October 2016, during Black History month. - The uniting of descendants of former slaves with other First Nations throughout the Pacific and Canada is telling. The removal of all Chagossians from their homelands by the UK - Does this sound familiar?

The matters relating to the Chagossian people after the UK forcibly removed them from their island homelands went before the court two days ago in London. The United Kingdom did a deal with the United States and gave them the Chagossian peoples homeland Islands so the US could build a military base. Diego Garcia, the island where most Chagossians lived appears to be the principle island used. Most Chagossians now live in Mauritius and the United Kingdom after being forcibly evicted by the British government in the late 1960s and early 1970s. [node:read-more:link]

Michael Anderson returns from UN Symposium and announced the next Sovereign Union meeting

Michael Anderson said on his return from Geneva that, "the Historic Symposium on Indigenous participation within the United Nations was an important event, considering it included nominated youth from the seven regions of the Aboriginal/Indigenous world. The youth representatives were chosen by the Elders, who were amongst the First Nations participants in 1977 and 1981.'

On his return Michael announced the next Sovereign Union meeting in Canberra on the 23rd - 24th November 2013

SU Request to UN: Safe passage for Freedom Flotilla to West Papua

The Sovereign Union of Aboriginal Nations and Peoples writes to all UN Ambassadors in NY, drawing their attention to the ancient customary relationship between Australian First Nations Peoples and the Peoples of West Papua.

They are told of the 'Freedom Flotilla' of peaceful supporters who are taking a cultural message of peace and support for the Peoples of West Papua and that passengers include a highly respected First Nations Elder.

The UN Ambassadors are requested to write to the State of Indonesia advising them that all people have a right to protest and not be harmed, as this is a fundamental human right in a true democracy. [node:read-more:link]
